Missions and Ministry Opportunities

SURG2 Program

Serving Unreached Regions for God’s Glory

The gospel transforms lives: God’s word changes us as we study and obey it, and it changes our world as people hear and accept it. To encourage further transformation across our campus and throughout communities in the Pacific Region, SURG2 works to complement programs already occurring on campus, as well cultivating additional missions and ministry opportunities at PIU.

Campus Ministries

University of Guam Outreach

Join the ministry at the UOG campus to reach out to local students on Tuesday nights. See Daniel for more information. Date: On-going every semester.

Community Service Projects

Get together with your discipleship group, the b-ball team, VOM, or just a group of friends to serve somewhere in our local community! See Stephanie or Steve for more information.

Big Brother/Big Sister Program

Adopt a little brother or sister from the local neighborhood and learn to be a positive Christian influence in his or her life. Date: On-going every semester.

Ministry Trips

Missions Trip to Saipan

Join a group of students this Christmas break in partnership with UOG Outreach Ministry and friends at the North American Missions Board who work in church-planting ministry. See Daniel for more information. Date: December 20-26, 2010.

Summer Trip to Yap

Spend four weeks doing VBS, youth retreats and village evangelism in Yap over the summer break. See Steve Stinnette for more information. Date: Summer 2011

Ministry & Missions Classes

Take PIU classes to better prepare you to share the gospel wherever you are: Intro to Missions, History and Philosophy of Missions, Mission Structures and Relationships, Cross-Cultural Communications, Asian and Pacific Christian Theology, Apologetics, Teaching in Small Groups, Evangelism and Discipleship, and many more! See the PIU Catalog and your advisor for more information.

Missions Internships

SURG2 is developing long-term missions internships for students nearing the end of their studies at PIU. Internships in Indonesia and other locations would place students with a local pastor or missionary for 6 months to 2 years of discipling unreached people groups. Date: To be determined.
