Dr David L Owen, President
Pacific Islands University, Guam Campus
Greetings from the President
Since 1976, PIU has been preparing men and women to serve Jesus Christ in Micronesia and throughout the world. The vision of PIU is to be a leader throughout Guam, Micronesia and the Pacific Region in providing accessible, transformational and quality Christian higher education that will prepare men and women with a biblical worldview for leadership and service in life, work, and ministry in the global community and the church.
PIU brings together students from many different countries and many religious denominations, so that no matter which “island” you come from, you can experience the many cultures of the world in a small-school environment where students, staff and faculty know each other and can develop close relationships.
The PIU program provides a well-rounded, nationally accredited Christian education within these three colleges:
* PIBC– Pacific Islands Bible College provides certificate, diploma, AA and BA programs in Bible with minors in ministry and education to prepare students for pastoral, teaching, missions and other ministries in the church and global community. PIBC is a school where you can learn to do cross-cultural ministry by doing it under the leadership of caring and experienced staff and faculty
* PICC — Pacific Islands Christian College provides Bachelor and Associate of Arts degrees in liberal studies, a Certificate in Scuba Diving Instruction and a Certificate in English program that prepares students for college level English. In the future PICC plans to offer an elementary education program to meet the great need for well-prepared teachers in Micronesia.
* PIES — Pacific Islands Evangelical Seminary offers a Master of Arts in Religion designed to produce theologically trained leaders for the churches of the Pacific and to develop effective missionaries to the unreached peoples of Southeast Asia.
This website is only a summary of the PIU experience. For more information please call or email me or, better yet, come visit us and experience our beautiful islands and friendly campus. You are always welcome.
My desire is that PIU be a place where students are challenged and prepared to be what God has called them to be. Welcome to Pacific Islands University!
I would invite you to join us at PIU on the journey God has set before us.
May God bless you,
Dr David L Owen
President
P.S. I post regular updates on my blog. This is another great way to keep in touch.
